Today, we went to visit family.
More specifically, we went to drop a "Good Luck" card to our step-nephew, Chris, who is joining the army on Monday. Chris was over his grandparents, so we spent a nice hour chatting to DH`s brother, partner and little girl who is a little younger than D4.
From there, we went to my mother-in-law`s, and we took her out for lunch.
It went about as well as a meal out with two wildly excited children aged 6 and 3 could go..........I`m sure you get the picture :-0
Put it this way, since we got home from our 45 minute drive, DH has retired to bed for a sleep in the dark, and I have put Shrek 2 on the DVD player so I can write this :-)
My heart goes out to my sister-in-law, whose son Chris is only 16. It must be really hard to watch him go away for his basic training , and know that when he finishes, he will be signing up for Army life and could be posted anywhere in the world, including the arena of conflict in Iraq, shortly afterwards.
Please remember Chris and his family in your prayers.
