In our town , quite a few of the houses have their outside Christmas decorations up already.
We always have Advent calendars for the girls, and we celebrate St Nicholas` Day with delight.
I tend to put our tree up a few days before the Nativity, along with our old and much-loved Crib, and we enjoy the anticipation of it all the more for celebrating Advent.
It just seems wrong when the shops are stocking Christmas decorations in August, and the Easter eggs appear at the beginning of January - the seasons are all awry..........
Although we are on the new Calendar, it seems as though we are all out of step with the secular world nevertheless :-)
