This is the second of the series of 6 "installments" which form "The Discovery" series, following the lives of a newly married Amish couple, Meredith and Luke Stoltzfus.
This episode opens with us finding that the alcoholic drug-user Alex has savagely beaten Luke almost to death at a bus station and has stolen Luke's clothing and wallet before using the bus ticket to travel under Luke's name.
Meredith has visited the midwife and has confirmed that she is indeed pregnant, and she is filled with joy, hoping and believing that things are looking up for them, with a new baby on the way and Luke away, learning a new trade.
Unfortunately, tragedy strikes. But is Luke really the one whose life was cut short? All the evidence points that way, but what about the severely injured young man who enters the deeply devout Nurse Susan Bailey's care at the hospital trauma unit? Will the truth ever be discovered?
Meredith's pregnancy also runs into potential problems, and when an old friend moves back to their community, things appear to have the potential to become complicated indeed..........
