I was phoned a few days ago, asking if I might be interested in a job. I have never been head-hunted before, so I was very flattered !
Unfortunately, the *very* well-paid job is just too far way to be compatible with picking my children up from school at hometime, so I have had to decline the kind offer.
It was jolly nice to be asked, though !

ReplyDeleteAnd WOW! looking at all the books you've read; I'll add some of those to my "want-to-read" list. I did love "Eats, Shoots and Leaves". Have you read any of David Crystal's books on the English language? While not as out-there as Lynne Truss, he has a great sense of humour, is exceptionally knowledgeable and writes very well. His "answer", so to speak, to "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" is "The Fight for English: How language pundits ate, shot, and left" and I greatly enjoyed it as I have enjoyed all his books. He has a blog too.
