The life of an Orthodox Christian woman in the UK.
Sweden has been off the deep end for a long, long time. The one that got me was the Lutheran Church in Sweden, which decided that it was "discriminatory" not to allow atheists to receive Communion. Say *what*?! So this birthday-party thing doesn't really surprise me -- it's just part of a bigger picture. I'll be interested to see what these kids are like in 20 years or so.
It's not just kids in Sweden. One of the secretaries in our hospital went over her manager's head to complain to a more senior manager that another secretary didn't say hello to her in the corridor! Perhaps I should ask if they got a directive in their payslips telling them not to be discriminatory with their greetings? :-) *sigh*
