Asking For Prayers Again

Dear Friends,
I have just had a phone call to tell me that my dad's youngest sister, my aunt Joan, has collapsed and is critically ill with what appears to be very advanced but hitherto undiagnosed lung cancer. She is on a ventilator.

Biopsies have been taken but the medics are pretty sure they are right based on clinical presentation and x-ray films anyway. She has been a very heavy smoker for very many years.

Please pray for her and all her family; her youngest son's wife is due to have a baby in three weeks and Robert will be commuting between England and France to be with his mother and his wife.

We last saw Joan just before Western Easter, and she was her usual chatty and lively self. This has come as a body blow to us all, especially as my Dad also died of lung cancer , some 18 years ago. Ironically, he had given up smoking nearly twenty years before that, but it still killed him......

Lord, have mercy......

May the good, kind, man-loving Lord have mercy upon your aunt and your whole family.

Is she Orthodox, too?

Lord have mercy! Elizabeth, I am terribly sorry to hear this news. Truly tragic.

My mother's lung cancer has returned with a vengance and she begins chemotherapy again tomorrow. I do not know her prognosis. She smoked for 63 years.
