Not Much News

Not much to report on the Home Front except that the rain has stopped and we have had two blazingly hot sunny days. Thankfully the flooded areas are starting to get utilities back and will be able to start putting their lives and possessions back in order.

It was so hot this morning that we had to leave the park this morning by 10.30am as it was just too hot to be outside, let alone running around and playing on the equipment.
I`ve got two loads of washing dry on the line outside, though !

The young ones played quietly at home with Playdough for ages so I was able to have some computer time :-)

The sunshine after the rain is always so lovely (as is the rain after the sunshine!)

I'm sure your clothes are nice, crisp and smell good!

First, It has been cloudy here in Indianapolis for the last few days. We are in the midst of a heatwave that will not break until this weekend (maybe). The temperatures are between 30-36C (86-96F) with extremely high dew points and humidity every day. There has been little rain so the city has issued a water advisory (not watering your garden, full stop! Outdoor plants and flowers may be watered only every other day).

Really, I wish I could trade the UK some of this dry (not the heat and humidity) weather for some of the rain!

Second, Clothes put to dry outside always seem so much more soft and fresh.

Sadly, in this day and age, unless you live way outside of a city or town in most Indiana locales there are rules prohibiting hanging clothes out to dry (my guess is it is considered either lewd or an eye sore). Anyway, my mum used to hang clothes to dry outside in nice weather until these laws took effect.

God bless you!
